A Finnish expat living in the Netherlands, a country where cows outnumber trees and hills are more theory than reality. Somewhere between missing the wild silence of pine forests and a vague notion that Dutch nature is entirely man-made, I set out to prove myself wrong.
Accompanied by a pampered city podenco and only the occasional free weekend around a 9–5 job, we began long-distance walking to find the kind of beautiful strolls where you can truly forget yourself (or at least forget you’re never really that far from a motorway).
